Not all movies should be turned into TV shows, which, frankly, should be obvious. But what makes a movie susceptible to a reinvention on television is a bit more murky. Few thought "Fargo" the TV show sounded like a good idea until it premiered, and now people won't stop talking about it (as one of the best shows on right now).

Taking a page from that successful adaptation, "The Girlfriend Experience" is the vision of two new co-creators. While Steven Soderbergh (who directed the original film version) is attached as an executive producer, the 13-episode drama series will be written and directed entirely by Lodge Kerrigan and Amy Seimetz. If it worked for Noah Hawley, why not for these two?

And after seeing the first full trailer above, the reasons to be wary of the upcoming Sundance premiere are becoming fewer and fewer. After its sneak preview at Sundance January 23, Starz will premiere the full first season all at once on April 10, via Starz Play and VOD.
