Have you been suffering from a lack of gruesome, low budget, straight to DVD horror movies? If so, fear not, for Chucky has returned!
The serial killer possessed doll is back for a sixth, straight to DVD installment called "Curse of Chucky" hitting shelves Sept. 24. That's over a month away, but the recently released red band trailer should satisfy you Chucky fans out there, who last saw him at play in 2004's "Seed of Chucky."
This installment's tale revolves around Nica (Fiona Dourif), who is grieving over the gruesome suicide of her mother when a mysterious package arrives in the mail. The contents: a harmless looking red haired doll. Barb's daughter begins to console herself with the cute toy, when a string of gruesome murders begin to terrorize the household. Some unfortunate schmo asks in the trailer, "It's a doll, what's the worst that can happen?" Oh you poor thing.
The film was directing by "Child's Play" franchise creator Don Mancini, who has written or co-written all of the Chucky movies, and Brad Dourif reprises his role as the creepy, nightmare inducing voice of Chucky.
