Given all the hoopla surrounding Alejandro González Iñárritu's Oscar-winning "The Revenant" – from the incredibly troubled production to the extreme commitment of actors like Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy – it was only a matter of time before the film got an appropriately ridiculous Honest Trailer, and it looks like today is finally the day.
Inspired by the true story of American fur trader Hugh Glass, "The Revenant" is an epic saga of revenge that finds Glass embarking on an odyssey through the wilderness to track down and kill the man responsible for his son's death. As many of us found out for ourselves while watching the movie, "The Revenant" is not really big on plot, or dialogue for that matter, but it does love gorgeous shots of the sky, and that's humorously where the Honest Trailer begins its epic takedown of the film. Everything from Leo's bison liver dinner to Hardy's mumbling gets touched on here, though the best part is an out-of-left-field, though very appropriate, bit in which the movie becomes an episode of MTV's "Jackass."
"The Revenant" is now available own on Digital HD and iTunes. Watch the Honest Trailers takedown above.
