New York based writer/director Adam Leon made news last year when his debut film, "Gimme the Loot" won the Narrative Grand Jury prize at SXSW. After following it up with a screening in Cannes, the film will now receive a limited theatrical release next month and we've got a first look at the the trailer.
The film centers around Malcom and Sofia, two teenage graffiti-writers who are determined to be known for their craft. In order to get this fame they plan to graffiti tag the Mets' home run apple but must first raise $500 in order to get access to the stadium. As they attempt to raise the money, getting involved with petty theft along the way, questions arise about their friendship. A light hearted view into the world of tagging and teenage dreams, "Gimme the Loot" is a fresh take on the adventures of summer days in New York.
