Watch: Trailer for Dustin Hoffman's Directorial Debut 'Quartet' (VIDEO)

The Weinstein Co. has officially released a trailer for Dustin Hoffman's directorial debut, "Quartet," which stars Maggie Smith, Billy Connolly, Tom Courtenay and Michael Gambon as residents of a retirement home for musicians. The comedy had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September and will receive an Oscar-qualifying theatrical release in late December, hoping to capture some of the avid older moviegoing audience that buoyed Fox Searchlight's surprise success "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel."

IW critic Eric Kohn said in his review of the film, "Satisfactory as an actors' showcase, 'Quartet' mainly works because of its implied double-narrative: While the characters strive to show they still have talent, the actors do as well, and they nimbly transcend the limitations of the material."
