In contrast to Ridley Scott's last project of epic proportions, "Prometheus" (which took place in the future), "Exodus: Gods and Kings" takes us back in time to the days before Christ -- specifically to the moment in time when Moses rose up against Ramses and led more than half a million slaves out of Egypt.
Christian Bale and Joel Edgerton co-star as Moses and Rameses, respectively. Aaron Paul, John Turturro, Ben Kingsley and (of course) Sigourney Weaver round out the rest of the cast.
In 20th Century Fox's first trailer for the film, which you can watch below, it's not the story that will make you pause, but rather the intricate CGI used to build the world of the film.
"Exodus: Gods and Kings" is slated for a wide release on December 12th.
