You probably can't tell exactly what the plot of "The Zero Theorem" is by watching the trailer alone. But you can tell it's very Terry Gilliam. Christoph Waltz and Matt Damon star in Gilliam's latest, the story of a computer hacker in an Orwellian world trying to find the reason for human existence. To stymie him, the Management (Damon) sends his teenage son and a voluptuous temptress. At first glance, the film looks like a cousin to "The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus" or "Brazil," probably complete with similar quirk and darkness.

"I don't particularly like sci-fi and I never think I'm doing sci-fi," Gilliam said of the film. "The past, the present and the future are altogether all the time. We live in an age when I've got one hand on an iPhone, and with the other I'm hand cranking my coffee grinder." "The Zero Theorem" premiered at the Venice Film Festival last year, and doesn't yet have a U.S. theatrical release date. Check out the trailer below:
