Artist Emma Allen posted her circle-of-life-through-body-paint stop-motion animation to Vimeo a few months ago, but it's just now bubbled to the top, and the video is a great showcase of what makeup can do to tell stories.
From the Vimeo page for "Ruby," Allen describes her film as "An animated self-portrait exploring the idea of
rebirth and illustrating the transfer of energy from one incarnation to
another. I painted this stop frame animation on myself over 5 days,
using some face paints, a mirror and a camera."
Check out this new look at the circle of life, which ends in quite a surprising way (and see more of Allen's work on her Vimeo page).
