"Veep" Season 4 was a monumental year for the HBO comedy no matter how you slice it. Heading in, we knew Hugh Laurie was stepping into an already stellar cast. Just before the season kicked off, we discovered it would be series creator Armando Iannucci's last with the show, and after 10 more episodes of top-notch political satire, "Veep" (finally) took home the trophy for Outstanding Comedy Series at the Emmys.
So how can Julia Louis-Dreyfus & Co. live up to last year? Well, we got our first real taste at their attempt with the above trailer for Season 5 — the first full-length look at new episodes of "Veep" yet.
Other than some solid laughs — Jonah's "MRSA infection" tirade is classic Jonad — one of the biggest notable additions to the new season is John Slattery, the former "Mad Men" star who's joined the cast of another award-winning series after his last one wrapped up about a year ago. We'll see how he meshes with the rest of the players, but he's already proven to have chemistry with the President herself.
"Veep" returns April 24 on HBO.
