I'm sure there are a bunch of these out there right now, but this supercut of the films of 2012 is especially well done.
This epic 8-minute effort comes courtesy of a 19-year old Dutch film student studying editing in Amsterdam named Kees van Dijkhuizen Jr. Strung together in five somewhat thematically related movements, the video amply conveys just how wondrous the moving image can be in all forms, from the tiniest of indies to the blockbusteriest of studio tentpoles -- and everything in between.
If nothing else, these flashes of the film year that was will remind you of some of your own most transporting moments in theaters during 2012 -- and get you excited for the year to come. Check it out:
