Fresh off of an Oscar nomination for "Blue Jasmine," Woody Allen wasted no time on his follow up. In addition to starring in John Turturro's "Fading Gigolo", Allen wrote and directed "Magic in the Moonlight," which stars a traditionally deep list of stars as most of Allen's movies do. This trailer alone features Emma Stone, Colin Firth, Jackie Weaver and Marcia Gay Harden.
Stone, so light and quick that it was only a matter of time before she would team up with Allen, plays a "fake spiritualist" who acts as a medium connecting a wealthy family to the supernatural. Firth is brought in to convince them of her fraudulent nature, only to become increasingly puzzled by her apparent ability. Soon, the two draw predictably closer in this ensemble romantic-comedy from the master of ensemble romantic-comedies.
This is a typical Woody Allen looking trailer, equipped with period dress and jazzy score that evoke thoughts of his incredible "Midnight in Paris," as both are set in 1920s France. "Midnight in Paris" director of photography Darius Khondji and production designer Anne Seibel came along again for this project as well. Check out the new trailer below:
