"War Horse," Steven Spielberg's much-hyped fusion of the "war film" and "horse film" won't open until Christmas Day, but Dreamworks and Touchstone are already doing a terrific job of selling a film that actually sells itself.
What we've got in this trailer is basically an extended version of the first teaser: stunning visuals by the great Janusz Kaminski, tearjerking music by John Williams, tears, meaningful glances, crowd scenes and galloping stallions.
It looks like Spielberg is going to have to get a larger mantle. Yes, this trailer is that promising.
