Despite a November 9 release date, the buzz surrounding Clint Eastwood's Leonardo DiCaprio starring biopic "J. Edgar" has been questionably low going into awards season. It skipped Toronto, Venice and Telluride, instead opting to make its debut as the opening night film at the AFI Film Festival just days prior to hitting theaters. The first trailer for the film hit the web last night, finally giving us a hint at what to expect.
Penned by Oscar-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black (“Milk”), “J. Edgar” explores the public and private life of the founding director of the FBI. Naomi Watts, Armie Hammer and Judi Dench co-star.
If the clip's anything to go by, it's going to be handsome looking affair with a stellar cast (Hammer seems be the real breakout here). Our only major quibble: DiCaprio's old aging makeup doesn't look very convincing.
