Props to the "The Colbert Report," which saw fit to interview Werner Herzog (!) as he promotes the release of "Cave of Forgotten Dreams." Although he resisted Colbert's suggestion to describe the film as "cave porn," Herzog provided a good match to Colbert's wit. After describing the film's postscript (it features an albino alligator), the director went into a long rant about the the unknown lives of those listed in the New York City phone book. Steven Colbert confessed: "I want to party with you, cowboy."
"Cave of Forgotten Dreams," which premiered at the 2010 Toronto International, takes the camera underground to investigate 30,000-year-old cave paintings in the south of France. Read Eric Kohn's review of the film here.
