Wolfe Video has acquired all North American rights to Stefan Haupt's new film "The Circle (Der Kreis)." A gay emancipation docu-drama, "The Circle" has already won Berlin's Panorama Audience nod and a Teddy Award.
The film has already been picked up for distribution in a few European countries, but Maria Lynn, Wolfe Video's CEO, is excited to introduce "Circle" to American audiences. According to Lynn, "The Circle" is a "very special film and its elegant documentation of our history."
Set in 1950s Zurich, the film follows a young teacher and his challenging affair with a transgendered star, Robi Rapp. As the teacher navigates the difficult cultural climate of a post-WW2 Germany, he becomes a member of the first gay rights organization Ker Kreis.
