XLrator Media has acquired all U.S. rights to the horror thriller “Under the Bed,” directed by Steven C. Miller and written by Eric Stolze, for a planned summer 2013 theatrical release.
Jonny Weston, Gattlin Griffith, Peter Holden, Musetta Vander and Kelcie Stranahan star in the story of two brothers forced to do battle with the monster living under their bed even as their family has its own problems. “V/H/S” producers Brad Miska and Tom Owen produced with “The Devil’s Carnival” producer William Clevinger. Miller and Zak Zeman are executive producers.
“‘Under the Bed’ is a loving tribute to all the horror classics I grew up with, from Steven Spielberg’s ‘Poltergeist’ to Joe Dante’s ‘Gremlins’ and ‘The Howling’ to John Carpenter’s ‘The Thing,’” said XLrator Media CEO Barry Gordon, who negotiated the deal with Ehud Bleiberg and Giulia Prenna of Bleiberg Entertainment. “Films like that are rare today and director Steven C. Miller perfectly captures the essence, style and sheer fun of those timeless films for a new generation of fans.”
Bleiberg Entertainment’s Compound B label is handling international rights during AFM.
XLrator Media has recently released “Ironclad,” “Killing Bono,” “Knuckle” and “Assassin’s Bullet," among others.
