Zurich Film Festival to Honor Paul Haggis

The Zurich Film Festival announced today that Oscar-winning screenwriter and filmmaker Paul Haggis will be presented with the festival's Golden Eye Award.

The festival will also screen a retrospective of his work, which includes "Million Dollar Baby," "Crash" and "In the Valley of Elah." In addition, Haggis will be holding one of ZFF's Master Class workshops, where he will discuss his work and career.

Zurich Film Festival Director Karl Spoerri commented, “Paul Haggis has had an impressive career that is deserving of the highest recognition and honors. We’re excited for those who will have the rare opportunity to peer into the mind of Mr. Haggis during the Zurich Film Festival master class and are equally excited for the entire film going audience that will be treated to his best works on the big screen.”

Previous guests of honor at the Zurich Film Festival include Roman Polanski, Milos Forman and Oliver Stone.

The festival runs in Zurich from September 22 through October 2.
