    Picturehouse Makes "El Cantante" Deal

    Picturehouse has closed a deal for North American rights to Leon Ichaso's "El Cantante," starring Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony. The story of famed salsa performer Hector Lavoe, the film debuted earlier this week at the Toronto International Film Festival. The company is eyeing a Summer '07 release for the film. "El Cantante is a vibrant and heart-wrenching film full of outstanding performances and glorious music," said Picturehouse president Bob Berney, in a statement.
