Clive Owen & Anil Kapoor Attached To Roger Donaldson's Financial Thriller 'Cities'

Nearly three years after the fact, filmmakers are finally catching up to the giant bastards behind the collapse of the economy at the end of 2008 that dumped the rest of us in the shit. Last year saw both Oliver Stone's mediocre "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps," and Charles Ferguson's Oscar-winning...

Review, Something Borrowed: Ginnfer Goodwin, Kate Hudson Fight Over a Ken Doll

“The Hamptons are like a zombie movie directed by Ralph Lauren.” Enjoy that line, because it’s about the only one that might make you laugh in the irredeemably lame romcom Something Borrowed. From the minute you see Ginnifer Goodwin wearing an unconvincing long brown wig, you have an inkling of just...

2011 Tony Awards Nominations Announced! "Scottsboro Boys" Racks Up 12! The Details...

As I wrote yesterday, star of stage and screen, Anika Noni Rose, joined Matthew Broderick this morning in announcing the nominees for the 2011 Tony Awards (essentially the stage equivalent of the Oscars - theater's highest honor), and as I suggested then, this year's list of potentials has a decent ...

Official Synopsis + New Casting For Craig Robinson's Post-Apocalyptic Comedy "Rapture-Palooza"

We first told you about this upcoming new project (titled Rapture-Palooza) back in March, when it was announced in a press release revealing Lionsgate's new micro-budget initiative; it was one of 3 or 4 titles mentioned in the release, and, at the time, its description was limited to just a one-line...

Have You Ever Lied About Liking a Movie?

I promised to raise this question a few weeks back, when everyone (including us) was linking to LOVEFILM's list of movies people lie about seeing. I assume there are more people who lie about liking movies than do about seeing them. And what better week to think about this than the 70th anniversary of "Citizen Kane"? Given that it's rated on so many lists as the greatest film of all time, I expect the pressure to agree is enormous. Maybe not as enormous as the pressure to feign excitement about a single terrorist mastermind's murder (or the pressure, now that people are trying to make it controversial, to not call it "murder"), but pretty tre...

Hugh Jackman May Take A 'Fantastic Voyage' With Shawn Levy

It's not secret by now that Hugh Jackman and "Real Steel" director Shawn Levy have hit it off in a huge way. Before their first collaboration has even been released studio types are feeling chuffed and already planning a sequel, while Jackman and Levy have already started eyeing another project with...

Today's Birthdays - 5/03/11 (James Brown, Dule Hill and Ron Canada)

As Tambay stated earlier...the King of Soul James Brown would have turned 78 today. Although singing was his forte, he did appear in The Blues Brothers, Doctor Detroit, Miami Vice and Rocky IV. You can hear his music on various soundtracks including Black Caesar, Eye of the Tiger, Good Morning Vie...

The Weinsteins Hire A Hack To Butcher 'Seven Samurai' In A Remake No One Wants

In the works for a long time now, this is a project we hoped would sit around, collect dust and never really happen but now there is fresh movement and we couldn't be more nauseated.
