Let the Games Begin - Teaser Trailer for The Hunger Games

I admit it. I am totally obsessed with these books. I am in the middle of the third one and find them a much easier and engaging read than Twilight.

Javier Bardem Will Scare Your Children As The Villain In 'Despicable Me 2'

While the trailers leading up to the release of Universal's 2010 CGI fest "Despicable Me" felt far more cryptic than they should have for a kid's animated movie featuring historical monuments being stolen by an unknown evil genius, the film turned out to be a surprise hit for the studio that summer ...

RIP Steve Jobs, Who Deserves the Word Visionary: Obits, Links, Clips

I once had lunch with Jobs at an excellent Japanese restaurant in Beverly Hills. He wore his trademark black turtleneck and jeans; he was serious, accessible. We talked about Pixar, which he also deserves credit for. Sadly, Jobs has died at age 56 of pancreatic cancer, which he had been fighting sin...

Is 'Skyfall' The Name Of Sam Mendes' James Bond Film?

Considering it's had an unusually tortured journey to the screen for a big franchise picture, thanks to the financial problems of MGM, it's not entirely surprising that details are relatively thin for the twenty-third James Bond film, the third to star Daniel Craig as the suave secret agent. Oscar-winner Sam Mendes has been attached to direct for close to two years now, we've known that for certain. Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, who've penned the first draft of every Bond script since "The World Is Not Enough," again did the groundwork, before Peter Morgan, John Logan and most recently "Notes on a Scandal" scribe Patrick Marber, came on for a ...

Well, he gets top billing in the credits, as you can see in the poster (and the trailer below) but he's barely featured in it. First announced in spring 2010, Tracy Morgan joins Channing Tatum, Al Pacino, and Ray Liotta in the ensemble cop drama Son of No One.

Who Are Today's Curators? And Where The Hell Are The Rest Of Them?!!

In this Age Of SuperAbundance one of the things we need more than anything is trusted filters. How do we prioritize what to watch? How to discover new work? How do we escape our echo chambers to be reminded of how expansive our taste really is?

Trailer: ‘My Week With Marilyn’ Starring Michelle Williams, Kenneth Branagh & Eddie Redmayne

If you think about, aside from "The Iron Lady" starring Meryl Streep and Jason Reitman's "Young Adult," the only other film from the 2011 Oscar season we haven't seen much so far from (i.e. a trailer) is "My Week with Marilyn" starring Michelle Williams. And come Sunday, press at the New York Film F...

"My Week With Marilyn" Finally Gets a Trailer

One of the final films of 2012 to receive a trailer (we're still waiting on "Young Adult," but that's about it), "My Week With Marilyn" finally gave us 2 minutes to judge upon, and boy are they pretty. We don't see much of Kenneth Branagh as Laurence Olivier (rumoured to be the best thing about the film), but we get plenty of Michelle Williams as Marilyn herself. Williams seems to definitely be offer her own interpretation of Monroe rather than simply mimicking her, which could go either way but these two minutes seem to suggest she's quite captivating. I'm sad to miss the premiere at NYFF this weekend (it's Canadian Thanksgiving and I've ski...
