    "Children of Men" Wins Cinematography Guild Prize

    Emmanuel Lubezki won the feature film award for best cinematography for "Children of Men" at the 21st annual American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) Outstanding Achievement Awards in Los Angeles this weekend, winning the prize for the first time. The lifetime achievement award went to Allen Daviau for his work on such films as "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial," "The Color Purple," and "Avalon", while Ron Howard received the ASC Board of Governors Award and Michael Ballhaus was presented the International Achievement Award.     "Babel" and "Departed" Tie for Dramatic Eddie Award; "Dreamgirls" and "Inconvenient Truth" Also Hono

    For only the second time, the ACE Eddie Awards featured a tie with "Babel" and "The Departed" sharing the award for best edited feature film (drama) at the 57th annual event. Stephen Mirrione and Douglas Crise were honored for their world on "Babel" while Thelma Schoonmaker was presented with the prize for her work on "The Departed" at the event this weekend in Los Angeles.
