Camden International Film Festival

For a long weekend on the cusp of September and October, three small Maine coastal towns (Camden, Rockland, and Rockport) bring to their communities some of the best documentaries of the year. According to its mission statement Camden is intent on showing films based on "their ability to arouse discussion on documentary film as an art form, a catalyst for change and as an outlet for the independent voice." So with edgy programming, beautiful coastal towns, and a hearty industry representation, Camden is already established, less than a decade into existence. In addition to the film programming, Camden also hosts the Points North Documentary Film Forum, one of the leading documentary forums in New England, and an exhibition of new media works in their Panoptic section.
