IFC Takes New Breillat Film, "The Last Mistress"
IFC First Take has announced the acquisition of all North American rights to to Catherine Breillat's "The Last Mistress," which is set to screen at the upcoming New York Film Festival (see indieWIRE lineup article). The film, starring Asia Argento, debuted this year in Cannes and was produced by Jean-Francois Lepetit. Set in 19th century France, it is described as the story of, "the love affair between tempestuous Spanish mistress Vellini and distinguished well-bred Ryno de Marigny."
