Caryn James is the film critic for Marie Claire and contributes regularly as a film, book and culture critic to The Daily Beast, The New York Times Book Review and others. Formerly, she was a film critic, chief television critic and critic-at-large for The New York Times, and an editor at the Times Book Review. She is the author of the novels What Caroline Knew (St. Martin’s Press, 2006) and Glorie (Penguin Books, 1999).
