J.R. Jones is a staff writer for the Chicago Reader, where his work has appeared regularly since 1996. His reviews have twice been honored by the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies in its annual awards for Best Arts Criticism. His work has appeared in many other publications, including the Kenyon Review, New York Press, San Diego Reader, and the anthology Da Capo Best Music Writing 2000.
