Objectification in Porn and Rom Coms: Joseph Gordon-Levitt Explains 'Don Jon's Addiction' at Sundance Q&A

The film could have been a crass portrayal of misogynistic, self-involved behavior, but instead it impressed the audience with a thoughtful examination that shows compassion for most of its hilarious characters.

Sorry, Joseph Gordon-Levitt Won't Be Batman In 'Justice League'

Well, that was fun while it lasted. Kind of. Yesterday, the interwebs threw the rumor signal into the sky as Hitfix claimed with "absolute certainty" that Joseph Gordon-Levitt would be the new Batman in "Justice League." But 24 hours later, that word hasn't panned out.

Lindsay Miller is 26, has cancer and is ready to start dating again. Who better to ask than heartthrob Joseph Gordon-Levitt, star of the comedy "50/50"? In the heartwearing film, Gordon-Levitt stars as a cancer patient the same age as Miller, who with the help of his best friend (Seth Roge...

Is He Just A Cop Or Something More? Pics Of Joseph Gordon-Levitt In 'The Dark Knight Rises'

Sorry 99%, Christopher Nolan Won't Be Shooting In Zuccotti ParkSo "The Dark Knight Rises" production hit New York City this week and as usual, everyone with a camera is taking pictures of whatever they can, and while we haven't kept up with the minutia of set photos this seems to be something fresh. Or not. But anyway, when Joseph Gordon-Levitt was first cast in the film it was said that he was playing a Gotham City beat cop assigned to special duty by Commissioner Gordon. Many assumed this was a ruse and that he was secretly playing someone much more important, but as these pics bear out...well, he's a beat cop. And it looks like he's assign...

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Lining Up Quentin Tarantino's 'Django Unchained'

Well, here's a pretty easy case of connect-the-dots. We just finished reporting that Joseph Gordon-Levitt's "Premium Rush" had been moved from January 13, 2012 to August 24, 2012 and we figured maybe it was a tactic by Sony to get the film some additional heat after the actor's turn next summer in "...

Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ryan Gosling & Alexander Skarsgård Reportedly Wishlisted For 'Man From UNCLE'

Plus Our Five Suggestions For Potential Replacements For George Clooney In The FilmWith his virus thriller "Contagion" riding on top of the box office (and causing an epidemic of O.C.D. hand-washing from anyone who's seen it), Steven Soderbergh's about to shoot his next film, the male-stripper drama "Magic Mike." But talk has already turned to his next, next film, "The Man From U.N.C.L.E," the second of three he plans to shoot before taking a sabbatical. That film, slated to go in front of cameras in February, hit something of a roadblock a few weeks back when Soderbergh's regular collaborator George Clooney was forced to drop out of the lead...

TIFF '11 Review: Admirable, Low-Key ’50/50’ Splits Difference Between Genuinely Funny And Sad

Let's get this out of the way early; the cancer dramedy, "50/50," formerly known as "I'm With Cancer," is an admirable effort by all the parties involved. There's maturity and restraint shown throughout in this story, about a healthy young twentysomething man staring his mortality in the face when he is suddenly diagnosed with a rare spinal cancer, and it's a well-intentioned humanistic drama that tries to demonstrate that life is complicated and never quite cut and dry. The measured film takes pains to illustrate there is laughter to be derived in difficult and near-tragic situations and melancholy can also be found in some of the most humor...
