The Romance of Loneliness

Amanda, a young woman from a traditional Southern family, has no idea what to make of her life and is determined to avoid finding out. At her cousin’s Cristina’s renegade wedding to her longtime girlfriend at a Mississippi hill country farmhouse, she finds out she has nowhere left to hide. An edgy jugband from up the road, an existentialist half-sister (Margot), a larger-than-life grandmother (Mina), a jump-roping photographer, and a farmer with a mysterious past as a musical anti- legend in Memphis, Tennessee are part of what makes THE ROMANCE an unusually vivid and candid approach to the story of one young woman’s refusal to go with the flow in today’s mid-south.
