International Short Film Festival - Clermont-Ferrand

Arguably the world's leading festival devoted to short films (which it defines as 40 minutes or under), Clermont-Ferrand in France is a vital showcase and marketplace for shorts, attracting upwards of 100,000 visitors annually for its annual film festival and marketplace. Now in its third decade, Clermont-Ferrand hosts three competitive sections: the International Competition (which includes about 70 films each year), Lab Competition (for films made using digital media), and the National Competition (devoted to French films). The festival's top prize, the Grand Prix, carries an award of 4,000 Euros. In addition to its competitive sections, the festival also organizes retrospectives of rarely screened short films based around a country or theme.
