San Sebastian International Film Festival
The San Sebastian Film Festival is held in one of Europe's most exciting small cities -- a mix of cityscape and picturesque Basque beach town. The festival considers itself a home for "disquieting and innovative films." San Sebastian bestows its grand honor of the Golden Seashell onto the best film of the festival and also doles out the Donostia Award as an honorary award to deserving film personalities. The festival has special sections for Latin America cinema and for cinema made in Spain. Besides the stunning landscapes and surroundings of the city and its beaches, the festival is also renowned for its poster design--which manages to represent the cutting edge of graphic design.
