The trailer for “Castle Rock” is upon us, and we’re appropriately spooked. The latest Stephen King adaptation takes the unique approach of adapting his stories more generally rather than focusing on a single book, with an impressive ensemble cast (Melanie Lynskey, André Holland, Jane Levy, Sissy Spacek, Bill Skarsgård, Scott Glenn, and Terry O’Quinn) leading the way. Here are some striking shots from our first look at the upcoming series.
Now that he’s done working in an early-20th-century hospital on “The Knick,” André Holland finds himself in an even weirder environment. Dude can’t catch a break.
Shawshank, you say? There doesn’t seem to be much redemption here, alas.
Fresh off his turn in “The Leftovers,” Scott Glenn is here to once again make grim pronouncements that no doubt have a profound effect on our hero. It’s just what he does.
Holland really, really doesn’t seem to be enjoying his time in Castle Rock.
If you thought Bill Skarsgård needed clown makeup to be unsettling, you were sorely mistaken; the spooky Swede is fast becoming the MVP of the Stephen King Cinematic Universe.
On the other end of the line of this prison call, which one might reasonably conclude takes place within the confines of Shawshank, is our dude Holland.
Fast becoming a scream queen, Jane Levy is continuing a horror-centric resume that also includes the “Evil Dead” remake and “Don’t Breathe.”
The island may be done with you, Locke, but rural Maine is not.
Melanie Lynskey, everybody’s favorite actress, doesn’t feel at home in this car anymore.
Sirens in the background? Melanie Lynskey with a concerned look on her face? This can’t be good, friends.
Well now that’s just creepy.
There’s no way this dude is planning something wholesome while wearing a mask like that.
If Sissy Spacek is freaked out, you probably should be too.
