New York-based distributor Wellspring, a beacon of light for many an arthouse and foreign-language film fan in the United States, held its last premiere party Tuesday night for the U.S. theatrical release of controversial doc "Unknown White Male." The film, which made the Academy's short list for Oscar consideration in the documentary category, has garnered a lot of media attention of late due to the film's subject, Doug Bruce, who has lived with total amnesia since July, 2003. Let's just say, see the movie and decide for yourself... Pictured here is the film's executive producer, Jess Search, director Rupert Murray (middle), and the film's international sales agent, Michael Thornton. Wellspring hosted a terrific party for the film, although the bash was also, in effect, its own good bye bash since it was revealed that the company's theatrical division will be shuttered by its parent company Genius, which is controlled by The Weinstein Company. They will be sorely missed.
