"Who Killed the Electric Car?" producer Dean Devlin ("Independence Day"), filmmaker Michael Moore and and the doc's director Chris Paine at the New York Sony building prior to a special screening of the film, which looks into the short rise and fall of the electric car in the '90s. Moore, who introduced the film before a packed room of notable NY journalists and other invited guests, recalled "Roger & Me" before the screening. The cars, considered a highly environmentally friendly alternative to the conventional car, disappeared in California after GM produced a model and quickly forced their destruction despite a loyal following. Sony Classics will open the film, which screened at Sundance and Tribeca in late June.
