And the man of the hour... "Shortbus" director John Cameron Mitchell took a break to meander amongst the crowd following a performance onstage at Manhattan's Angel Orensanz during the party for his film, which had its theatrical premiere Tuesday night. JCM admitted to a bit of voice loss, but he put on a damn good show, singing some tunes from the film as well as "Hedwig and the Angry Inch," which he directed (the cinema version) in 2001. "Shortbus" is a beautiful look at the romantic/sexual lives of a group of New Yorkers, and is opening Wednesday in limited release. It may be graphic for some, but it's simply the way that it is... And, if you never appreciated Jackson Pollock before, you'll get a whole new view of it here.
