JLo, her husband Marc Anthony, and other ultra-VIPs spent most of the night within the curtained private area of Cipriani 42nd St. at last night's "El Cantante" party, fresh from from a recent trip to Puerto Rico for a premiere earlier this week. But once it was time for Anthony to hit the stage on Thursday night for a set of salsa songs, Jennifer Lopez was right up front along with the sweaty, dancing crowd that pushed up close for the performance. As the exhuberant set came to a close, Anthony pulled his wife on stage for a wave and she quickly grabbed one of the many digital cameras from the crowd and began snapping photos. The two, who are rumored to be planning a music tour together, made their way back to the VIP area but outlasted most party guests, even after the section was opened up near 1 a.m. Earlier in the evening, New Yorkers Lopez and Anthony created a gridlock situation on the streets outside the AMC Empire theater and inside the long snake-like red carpet arrivals area, causing more than an hour delay at the screening. At the end of the night, outside Cipriani's, crowds waited patiently for a glimpse alongside the duo's luxurious Maybach which was parked right in front of the venue. [Eugene Hernandez]
