At
Picturehouse's "
Rocket Science" party in New York City on Tuesday night are the film's director
Jeff Blitz (left) with lead actor
Reece Daniel Thompson. The young star, from Canada, will return to the TV series "
Zixx: Level Three" and is also acting in another upcoming movie. He told indieWIRE that he was just able to squeeze in Tuesday's premiere in between an acting gig that ended at 7am on Tuesday morning and his start on
Gilles Bourdos' "
Afterwards" where he was expected on at 6 a.m. today. Jeff Blitz has also been busy. He told indieWIRE that he is about 2/3 of the way through a documentary about lottery players and winners. Blitz, who directed the Oscar-nominated "
Spellbound," also put in a plug for
Greg Whiteley's recent LA Film Fest winning doc, "
Resolved," a sort of non-fiction companion to "Rocket Science" that he said he liked a lot. Back at Sundance in January, Blitz
chatted with indieWIRE about "Rocket Science," saying about the film (which follows a boy with a stutter who joins the debate team to win the attention of a school girl), "To find your voice is really to find your place in the world and how difficult it is to find your place in a world that seems like it's so completely arbitrary."
