"It was good fun," said "
Atonement" actor
James McAvoy to iW at a big splash in downtown Manhattan for the film earlier this week, adding, "It's the best script I've ever read." Director
Joe Wright (enjoying a little ciggy time in this pic) said the idea of "happy endings" attracted him to the film, which has won praise on the festival circuit (and among the well-healed guests in New York Monday night). The film opens soon in the U.S. via
Focus Features. There is a little issue with the "C-word" that Wright mentioned before the screening earlier in the evening. Some suggested he keep away from the word which is a bit nastier in the U.S. then in the U.K. where the film was made... But it stayed.
