Among the most critically acclaimed films of 2007 was a student film directed by Charles Burnett some thirty years ago. Chatting with indieWIRE during a cocktail party at Sunday's New York Film Critics Circle event, Burnett (pictured, second from right), explained that he felt a bit awkward amidst all the attention his film has received. On stage, he was equally humble in accepting the special critics prize from Ruby Dee.
