The company swiftly nabbed the film in Cannes last year and quickly put it on track for an awards season release, garnering heaps of kudos along way. Accepting his best director award last night, filmmaker Julian Schnabel praised Kilik on stage, saying he doesn't make a movie without the veteran producer.
