With no acting experience, former model Freida Pinto (left) spent six months auditioning for a co-starring role role in Danny Boyle's "Slumdog Millionaire." Thrilled that Boyle was willing to take a risk on her, she said Monday night that she looks back now and realizes that the audition process was very educational. Meanwhile, "Slumdog" lead Dev Patel (right) is mostly a new face for American audiences, best known for his lead role on the sexy British TV teen dramedy, "Skins." Asked about the show during at a party after the Tribeca Cinemas Series screening last night, Patel shied a bit, understandably more interested in chatting about his breakthrough role in the new Boyle movie. The film opens in theaters this week.
