    Katie Aselton

    Aselton first came to Sundance as the co-star of "The Puffy Chair" in 2005 and currently has a role on the F/X program "The League." Last year, she premiered her directorial debut, "The Freebie," at Sundance; her sophomore feature, "Black Rock," premieres in the midnight section.

    Mark Duplass

    With his brother Jay, Mark Duplass co-directed "The Puffy Chair" and has screened nearly every movie they've made since then at Sundance. Also an actor, Duplass appears in this year's "Safety Not Guaranteed" and also scripted "Black Rock," directed by wife Katie Aselton.

    So Young Kim

    Kim's "Treeless Mountain" was a critical darling in 2008. Her latest feature, "For Ellen," follows a musician in a battle to retain custody of his daughter. It premieres in dramatic competition.

    Ry Russo Young

    Russo Young's "You Won't Miss Me" premiered in NEXT two years ago. She returns this year with "Nobody Walks," a comedy about a New Yorker visiting a Los Angeles family, written by "Tiny Furniture" director Lena Dunham.

    David Zellner

    With his brother Nathan, David Zellner (right) has churned out some of the strangest and enjoyably surreal short films in recent years, as well as the Sundance sleeper hit "Goliath." He returns to the festival with the NEXT entry "Kid-Thing."

    Craig Zobel

    "Homestar Runner" co-founder Craig Zobel premiered his first feature, the acclaimed "Great World of Sound," at Sundance in 2007. He returns with "Compliance," starring Pat Healy, in NEXT.

    The noted indie horror director joins forces perennial DIY auteur Joe Swanberg and several others to complete an epic roster of directors who contribute to the anthology horror film "V/H/S," screening in the midnight section.

    Mark Webber

    Webber is best known as an actor ("Scott Pilgrim," "The Hottest State") but also directed "Explicit Ills," which played to a strong reaction on the festival circuit in 2008. His follow-up, the semi-improvised "The End of Love," comes to Sundance this year.

    Benh Zeitlin

    The New Orleans native's short film "Glory at Sea" told a surreal, poetic story of epic proportions in 25 minutes. After landing acclaim on the festival circuit, the film (which was released on DVD by Wholphin) helped Zeitlin land a spot at the Sundance Lab, where he developed his first feature, "Beasts of the Southern Wild."
