"This is the only awards ceremony which I was present, which is just awesome," she told Indiewire. "I was praying that I wouldn't win because I didn't have anything prepared to say. But it's really exciting. I said something awful and disastrous and now I have to recover from the embarrassment."

    Friends, Fans Toast NYC Icon Marsha P. Johnson Tribute Doc

    At last night's edition of Ira Sachs' and Adam Baran's monthly film series Queer/Art/Film, the IFC Center hosted the world premiere of the new doc "Pay It No Mind: Marsha P. Johnson," based around a fascinating interview conducted just days before the New York City drag performer and transgender activist met her mysterious death in 1992. The packed house was treated to a Q&A panel with (L-R) Marsha's tearful and talkative roommate, gay rights activist Randy Wicker, her theatrical collaborator Jimmy Camicia, performance artist Agosto Machado and nightlife writer Michael Musto.
