    'Three Colors: Blue, White, Red' (The Criterion Collection)

    Krzysztof Kieślowski's now classic trilogy finally gets the Blu-ray treatment it so deserves courtesy of the folks over at The Criterion Collection, who have outfitted the release with a slew of new features including new interviews with actors Julie Delpy and Irene Jacob, along with new video essays by film writers Annette Insdorf, Tony Rayns, and Dennis Lim. A must own.

    'Beginners' (DVD and Blu-ray)

    Mike Mills acclaimed follow-up to "Thumbsucker" was a hit with the critics this year, garnering the film two Gotham Awards nominations for Best Film and Best Ensemble Cast. The dryly comic drama centers on an artist (Ewan McGregor) dealing with the recent passing away of his father (Christopher Plummer) who came out as gay shortly before dying.

    'Giorgio Moroder Presents Metropolis: Special Edition' (DVD and Blu-ray)

    Academy Award-winning composer Giorgio Moroder's 1984 remix of the classic that includes a pop/rock soundtrack featuring songs by Pat Benatar, Billy Squier, Freddie Mercury, Bonnie Tyler, Adam Ant, Jon Anderson and others gets a revamp courtesy of Kino Lorber. On top of the revamped soundtrack, "Giorgio Moroder Presents Metropolis" features footage not included in the initial version, new sound effects, color tinting and subtitles that replace the film's original intertitles. Included is "The Fading Image," a documentary produced by Moroder which chronicles his work on the restoration.
