De Niro and the Tribeca Filmmakers

A perk of being a director at the Tribeca Film Festival is “doing lunch” with the festival’s co-founders Robert DeNiro and Jane Rosenthal. DeNiro gave a sweet speech encouraging the directors present at Asia de Cuba restaurant on Monday saying that even the reactions to their film isn’t as important as the accomplishment of actually making a film. He then hung around and chatted with directors and even posing for the occasional pic. Also in the room with DeNiro and Rosenthal were the festival’s Nancy Schafer and other staffers.
