Jane Fonda and the Vets at IFC Center for “Sir! No Sir! Benefit
by indieWIRE (April 18, 2006)
The IFC Center in New York was a buzz of activity Monday night with a benefit screening of director David Zeiger's doc "Sir! No Sir!." The Hamptons fest winner chronicles the efforts by troops in the U.S. military during the Vietnam War to oppose the war effort by peaceful demonstration and subversion. Two-time Oscarwinner Jane Fonda, who also appears in the film, showed up for the screenings and posed with veterans from Vietnam and Iraq, including Joe Urgo, Dave Cline, Susan Schnall, Greg Payton, Oliver Hirsch, Jerry Lempcke, Joe Bangart, Elder Halim Gullahbemi and Don May prior to the evening's first screening. Zeiger, Fonda and the veterans received standing ovations at the screenings.
