NYFF ‘06 | Pedro and Penelope in NYC
by indieWIRE (October 10, 2006)
"Volver," one of the big winners at Cannes this year, was the centerpiece film at the 2006 New York Film Festival, bringing it to Manhattan just a few weeks before the film opens in U.S. theaters. Pictured, arriving at the film's post-screening party downtown Saturday night, are director Pedro Almodovar and star Penelope Cruz. The duo celebrated with an eclectic mix of fans and friends in the downstairs VIP room at Dirty Disco, partying with the likes of Bono and Bebel Gilberto, along with cast from the film and Almodovar's producer (and brother) Agustin.
