    Strand Releasing Sings to "Crossing the Bridge"

    Strand Releasing has acquired all US rights to Fatih Akin's "Crossing the Bridge" from Bavaria Film International, the company announced Wednesday. Strand co-president John Gerrans negotiated the deal prior to the opening of the American Film Market (AFM) with Thorsten Schaumann, head of Bavarian Film International. No date for a theatrical release was given. The film, which premiered as an official selection at the Cannes International Film Festival, portrays the music scene of Istanbul, and its "pulsating Bosporus metropolis," spotlighting the cultural versatility of Turkey in general and its largest city, Akin's favorite and "second home."...
