iPOP at the Newport International Film Festival
by Wendy Mitchell
It was mostly rainy in Newport for the sixth-annual Newport International Film Festival, but that didn't dampen the celebrations. As expected, the parties were more lavish than indie filmmakers are accustomed to (although a few folks were grumbling when an Asian-themed closing night party didn't boast any sushi). Venues for film fest celebrations included harborside restaurant The Clarke Cooke House, the famed Ochre Court mansion, Astor's Beechwood mansion, and the Newport Art Museum. The festival wrapped under sunny skies on Sunday.
