John Pierson and Family at the Reel Paradise party
John Pierson (right) with the whole fam-damily, Including Janet (next to him) and their children Georgia and Wyatt posing for photogs in front of posters for the film, which documents the final month of their lives in Fiji. We won't get into the whole "reality" vs. "non-reality" discussion here in iPOP, the happiest place on earth, but the film is a very intriguing look at an upstate New York family that picks up and moves to a remote island in Fiji (and we don't mean their swinging capital of Suva either) to live with a rather homogeneous population that's fairly untouched by the outside world -- or at least by 21st century standards. And, to top it all off, they re-open a local movie house, and show free films, with everything from "Jackass" to "Rabbit-Proof Fence." Photo by Brian Brooks/indieWIRE.
