    "The Cove" Premieres in NYC

Louie Psihoyos' 2009 Sundance award-winner plays partly like an action-thriller, with even some humor thrown in, over an all too-real environmental travesty. Renown dolphin trainer, Ric O'Barry (right), who produced the popular '60s television show "Flipper," exposes a shocking slaughter of thousands of dolphins in a tiny cove along a remote stretch of Japan's picturesque Pacific coast. In order to expose the death, he recruits a crew of champion divers, Hollywood special effects artists and adrenaline junkies to penetrate the heavily fortified area to expose the dirty secret that even most Japanese are unaware of... Last night's premiere in New York brought out a heavy crowd of star wattage, including Ben Stiller, who introduced the screening. Stiller was so moved the film when he saw it at the recent Nantucket Film Festival that he asked how he could help promote it. Also at the event were Adrian Grenier and Matthew Modine and a slew of other dolphin safe celebs. Pictured with O'Barry is Howard Cohen from Roadside Attractions, which will release "The Cove" beginning July 31st. It's great, go see it.
