We asked our Criticwire network of film writers to give us their favorites from those they saw during their stay in Austin. Of the SXSW premieres and from the 23 different ballots we received, "Short Term 12," "Drinking Buddies," and "Cheap Thrills" emerged as some of the top vote-getters in multiple categories. For each ballot in which critics were asked to create lists -- Best Narrative Feature, Best Documentary Feature, Best Lead Performance, Best Supporting Performance, Best Ensemble, Best First Feature and Most Anticipated (But Missed It) -- films were ranked using a simple point system, the results of which are visible in the numerical breakdown to the right of each film title.
